My fiance and I were in town for a wedding and wanted a quick place to grab a bite to eat before checking into our hotel. We yelped places (as we normally do when in a city we've never been to) and I am so happy we chose this restaurant. Everything was terrific, the service, the meal, the drinks, the atmosphere. It is an amazing spot right by the waterway that I feel everyone should check out. Oh and you can not leave without trying their pink lemonade cake, to die for! Thanks for a great meal and experience!

I love eating at the Bread Bar. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Casual dining with a view of the St. Joseph River. Smoked Whitefish salad is great . Eggplant Parmesan sandwich is a favorite. Desserts are fantastic. Pink lemonade cake is the best, but seasonal.

This is a great place. The food is clean tasting and portion sizes are just right. We had lunch here - waiter was busy but attentive nevertheless. Dessert - the strawberry shortcake is a must try! Lovely! I'd go back for sure.

This place is a breath of fresh air for the area for lunch! I work locally and lunch options are very limited and almost always too slow to be a option to eat at in under an hour. But Bread+Bar is great! We can get in and out with full service in around 45 minutes. Unfortunately have heard a lot of bad things about dinner menu and service, but every time we've had lunch we have thoroughly enjoyed our food and service! Another note- To Go service is terrible! If you order something don't automatically expect that it will be given to you the same way it comes in the restaurant. Sandwiches don't come with salads UNLESS you ask for them, salads don't come with bread UNLESS you ask for them, and sometimes even when you order things don't assume they will be in your bag. It's unfortunate that since there are only a handful of halfway decent restaurants in this area that they really don't have to care about making their customers happy! The food is great and we will return for lunch but this place could be MUCH better!

We ate here this past Friday with two other friends. We had a round of appetizers, cocktails and beer before dinner. The service was excellent. The craft beers and the cocktails were also very good. We never waited too long for anything. For the main entre, I had the duck, my wife had the hanger steak. The dishes were all very well seasoned and the flavor were excellent. Again the dinner service was excellent. We finished off with a round of deserts that were also very good. I will say the prices are a little on the high side, but the ambience, good service and excellent food make it all worth while. We will be back.

Absolutely excellent. Every bite I put into my mouth was amazing. I am not exaggerating, you guys, and I am not a plebe. Bread: WOAH. That's how sourdough should taste. Meatballs: YES, yes. One thousand times yes. Caesar salad: Even such a basic dish was executed perfectly. The dressing was clearly made in house. Hangar steak: Boom. Fantastic. The broth the beans were cooked in was stupid delicious. The meat cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri brightened up the dish beautifully. Coconut cheesecake: Oreo crust. Toasted coconut in top. So rich. Berry dessert (I forgot the real name): Akin to a clafoutis. Baked with lemon curd. MIND-BLOWING. The food was so good, I was shocked. I was not expecting this sort of quality in Benton Harbor. So glad we moved here. Service: could have been a bit more attentive, I would have liked pepper on my salad. However, our server was so kind that in the end I didn't really care. Thank You and keep it up!!

Great food! Awesome menu, very vegetarian friendly! The service is great and you can tell it's a small local joint: the chef even visited our table afterwards. Highly recommended!

Very good food highly recommend it. Service can improve. Nice place and ambiance. Even though iir has a bar its family orientated.

The food here was awesome. Make it a point to get away from downtown St. Joe and eat here....you won't be disappointed. I had the pretzel chips with pimento cheese and the tartines (smoked whitefish, Brie, and roasted tomato)

First experience at this fun spot in a revitalized area. Great food, fun atmosphere with a friendly staff. The smoked whitefish salad had the best whitefish I have ever had in my life. We also shared the the tartines for an app and they were great. I had the pork chop and my wife had the lamb chops. I would highly recommend both. All in all we were pleasantly surprised to find this quality of food and service at such a great value in Benton Harbor. We come to this area about once a year, and we will visit BreadBar every time we are in town.

After spending the day at the beach we ventured to Bread & Bar, which was recommended by a friend. My husband had the walleye special and I had the halibut. Ours meals were nothing short of amazing!! Then we ordered desert, my husband had the pink lemonade cake & I the creme brûlée. Must orders!!!

Returned to bread+bar yesterday for happy hour and enjoyed it even more than the first time! We tried two of the craft beers and a specialty cocktail and enjoyed them all. Their slider menu is innovative and we ordered all except the portobello one. Eggplant and Italian sausage versions were outstanding but honestly, they were all great! Then we tried the French onion purses, the baked French onion soup and the bacon & cheese biscuits with maple butter - wow...delicious and filling! The staff is very friendly, the bartender gave us a bit of history about the building and the owners - we're not normally ones to sit and eat at the bar but we will be from now on! Great experience, wonderful place!

We had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding. The restaurant was very accommodating and great to work with. Even though we were a large group, all of our food came out nearly at the same time and everyone said their dinner was amazing. Even my really picky dad was happy with it. We had whitefish salad for the whole group as well as tartines, all of which was delicious, and my entree (roasted chicken) was so good! The atmosphere was great, and overall it was a great experience!

Refreshingly awesome restaurant in BH! I think we've found our spot for dining when we're in town for the Iron Man. Loved the french onion purses! The scallops were piping hot and not overdone--a rare balance for scallops. Got the pink-lemonade cake as recommended and it was a real treat. Everything was very delicious. Atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. They were slammed that day to the racers in town and a classic car show but besides being out of a few items, you would have never known. Clearly they're running a very tight show here.

I really really want to like this place. I love that it's local and on the river so you can catch the sunset. But, every time I leave I end up feeling "meh". I've had halibut that was so overcooked I felt bad for the fish. The service is always just okay. But I believe in them and the Bit of Swiss name so I hope they can get better. For the prices, the food just isn't good enough. However, the desserts are out of this world. Definitely worth it just for the dessert- catch a table outside and settle in with something sweet. That, I can recommend.

Loved this place. Food, service, atmosphere all spot on. Try the Sriracha chicken, tartines, and cookie for desert. All round good stuff!

  • Dale S.

We enjoyed this little place on the water in Benton Harbor near the water. Good food on a nice patio area. Save room for dessert, which was very good because, along with the rest of the food, it was from the folks at the nearby Bit of Swiss bakery.

Have been for lunch several times. It's just ok, nothing to rave about. It is also spendy for what you get. Had Roasted Tomato soup the other day and it lacked flavor. Hot Italian Sandwich was good, but again, nothing really stands out. I got to go for Dinner and try some different stuff. They have a grilled cheese night which looks good. Nice place, clean and friendly service. Lot of lunch competition and I just think other places have better food for more reasonable prices. Lunch for the two of us was well north of $30 and we had water to drink. I usually don't care much about cost, but for some reason this just seemed a little high.

The place has promise and I'm looking forward to seeing them achieve. Some of the food was quite good, some was a bit uninspired or flavorless - the soup especially. The service was good and the decor was nice.

Bread + Bar - How a place with the word Bread in its name have none, is just plain inconceivable. Besides lack of bread, they also lacked service. One of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in memory. Young man who delivered our appetizer and meal was very polite and the food good. Unfortunately, the server was missing in action and just plain lacking skills (though we believe she has been waiting tables there for quite some time). When I asked about the possibility of bread we were told they ran out. Ten minutes later she did show up with some burnt bread. First time I ever left zero for a tip (except for handing a few dollars to the young man who delivered the food). Too bad no service ruined what could have been a good experience.

This place has high quality food at a reasonable price. Lunch sqndwiches are a comparable price to the restaurants feeding tourists downtown with much better food. We would pay more for larger portions. Yelp says this place is good for kids. It technically is a place where kids are welcomed but I wouldn't say my 2- and 5-year olds fit in. Caters to the trendy dressing business crowd who don't want the setting too upscale. I would take a client out here if I were in my big city.

  • Edwina P.

Wow!! Fantastic servers! They made us feel very welcome, and were quite attentive. My husband and I ate there last evening, and a summer storm was forecasted. We asked to eat outside, as it was quite pleasant at the time. Not only were we seated outside, but they reserved a table for us inside when the storm eventually came in. The food was good - we had the mussels and steak. Both prepared well. Not spectacular, but quite nice. Bread was terrific - bit of swiss bakery is outstanding. Wine list was acceptable - good variety and options. Don't be alarmed by the location or exterior. Location is definitely Benton Harbor - urban outdoor environment. However inside is upscale and modern. There is a small bar area (hence the name) and looked quite popular. Give the restaurant a try - I think you will enjoy it!

  • Bill S.

The appetizers were over rated. The main specials for the night of seafood risotto and skate fish were a bit bland and slightly over priced. Service was good and the decor was neat and unusual. Maybe the standard menu items would have been a better choice???

  • John N.

Good quality local restaurant with a contemporary feel. Visiting the area on business and very happy to discover. Let down by the less than hot French onion soup, otherwise a well cooked meal with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. Looking forward to returning when next in town.

I really enjoyed my trip to Bread+Bar for lunch. I started out my meal with the whitefish salad. I am not normally a fan of fish on salads but this one tasted great. The fish was cooked to perfection and the maple vinaigrette gave it a hint of sweetness but not too much. For the main course I tried the Nueske's Ham on Pretzel bread. This sandwich is served hot so the gouda cheese was actually melted into the Ham and pretzel bread. They also throw some honey mustard on the sandwich and while the honey mustard did taste a little sweet it was also kind of a spicy mustard. The best part of the meal was when we decided to split some deserts. We ordered the truffles and the creme brulee. The truffles were chocolate and dusted with chocolate powder. They were as good as any truffles I've ever had. The real slice of awesome was the creme brulee though. That was probably the best desert dish I have ever had. Oh yeah, besides all of the great food the service was outstanding as well. The servers haircut could have used a little improvement but otherwise it was all perfect.

Wonderful food in a great atmosphere. From the moment you are seated you will be pleased you came to dine. An outstanding drink menue with a flair for originality (try the corps reviver) coupled with an excellent diverse menu is sure to please everyone in the party. I love the hanger steak and the French onion purses are to die for. The deserts are out of this world. You won't be disappointed.

What a great meal. Table of 6, and we tried many of the dishes. Service was fun, and friendly. The room was gorgeous. Can't wait to go back. Sriracha Chicken was A+. Save room for the Pink Lemonade cake.

Was traveling to michigan for a golf trip. Heard about bit of Swiss and bread+bar from some family friends. Walking into this restaurant I was shocked...The atmosphere and vibe is something you would see in Chicago or San Fran. Started with the taxi drivers wife's mussels they were so tasty! Once I finished every mussel the server brought me some sourdough bread to dip in the addicting broth. For entree's we had the hanger streak with chimichurri sauce and pork chop. They were cooked to perfection and we ate it all! Definitely can tell they cook everything from scratch and to order. For dessert we had the pink lemonade cake from bit of Swiss. WOW I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

If you haven't been there once, I would try it. However, it isn't a place to go to often due to the prices.

  • Jamie G.

Dinner was over priced and small portions vs what I was expecting. Ps..they call it the bread bar and you don't even get bread your meal? I ordered the dinner pasta and no bread. Hum.... In their defense I haven't been there for lunch and others say the service and food are pretty solid for that time of day. Maybe I'll give them another shot. I won't be going back for dinner.

  • Todd S.

Excellent, fresh food. The smoked whitefish tartines and the french onion purses were excellent. The balsamic vinegar & bacon Brussels sprouts were also very good. If you believe that dinner should be a slab of beef, a heap of mashed potatoes, and a quart of gravy, bread+bar is not for you; if your tastes are more adventurous, be sure to visit.

This place was very tasty! Came here to celebrate my birthday after reading the write up in Edible Michiana. Enjoyed the cocktails, particularly the Jalisco Trident. The wine list was approachable, yet offered a selection that pleased my husband, who works in wine retail in NYC. We had the Muga rosé. We had a selection of Tartines and small plates that we all really enjoyed- we really liked the rigatoni, meatballs, French onion purses, and brussels sprouts. As far as the tartines - tomato and gruyere, Serrano ham and manchego, and smoked whitefish and cream cheese were our favs. Between the good food and good service, I would definitely return and recommend others to visit.

This was our first visit and we were a party of eight. Between us we tried nearly everything on the menu and found it interesting and delicious. Pricing is upscale but not outrageous and on par with the quality of the fare. The atmosphere is classy and we got personal attention from the wait staff. This place is a breath of fresh air and is likely to become our new favorite place. Can hardly wait until warmer weather so we can sit outside and enjoy the river views.

My wife & I have been to Bread + Bar (don't forget to say the 'plus') a handful of times and it has quickly become one of our favorite establishments in the area. The offerings from appetizers to entrees to desert are delectable, the atmosphere is warm, inviting and exciting, and the staff have great knowledge. Tim has done a great job of engaging with his community and patrons to create a space for great food, great company, and a great evening out. We'll be back often!

Love the atmosphere in Bread+Bar, very comfortable casual. The Tartines are wonderful, especially the smoked whitefish and the serrano ham. The french onion purses are a MUST, perfectly bite size. Brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar and bacon was wonderful, as was the whitefish salad. Nice drink and wine select as well. Great service, can't wait to visit and sit on the patio.

We were visiting the area to attend a wedding. Decided to arrive a few days early for some family vacation time. We found Bread Bar on Yelp...quality food, wonderful service. We really loved the small plates...sampling most. The clams were a stand out. And the lemon curd and berry shortcake dessert was excellent. The entrées looked great...next time. Definitely on the return list. Nice location near the water. Outdoor patio. Interior modern, inviting with an open kitchen and nice bar. Interesting drink menu and a good selection of local beers. We were told the place had been open only 2 months. The food and service quality were that of a more established restaurant.

went here with a group of girls for a friend's birthday and was totally impressed. food was really really good...local produce, simple flavors, light yet delicious. the ambiance is beautiful...contemporary, trendy but warm and cozy...restoration hardware-ish...feels like a spot you'd fall in love with in downtown chicago. service was good...not off the charts but good. bartender was great! new fav spot...hope the locals support this establishment and don't complain about the prices...worth every cent! Lots of small plates and around 5-6 entrees...small plates range from around $5-9 and entrees in the $20's... Will be back again and again! Yay! A new, awesome restaurant in town!

While on vacation we decided to check out this new restaurant and we were blown away. The angry mussels were a huge hit and we absolutely loved them. The service was on point and she seemed to have extensive knowledge of food. My wife has an allergy and they were able to accommodate us. I would highly recommend bread+bar and will be back soon.

I am very disappointed in this restaurant and will never go back. I am not sure if they have a different menu for lunch than for dinner, as after reading the other reviews I did not see any of the items that were mentioned on the menu. I think I get out quite a bit, but I did not know what a lot of the items were on the menu. It would have been nice if there was a little explanation under the item to say what it was.... I ordered coffee and no one offered me a second cup. The waittress told us that each cup has to be brewed separately. Guess it was too much to ask for another cup. I left and had to stop to get something to eat as I was still hungry. Very disappointed .....

There are very few restaurants nearby where the food is made from scratch, tastes fantastic and is healthy. The bar is unique with interesting wine, beer and craft cocktail selections. Service was fast, friendly and professional. Pricing is surprisingly reasonable for food of this quality. Simply awesome!

In a word - pretentious. This is touted as a being affiliated with Bit of Swiss bakery, hence the Bread portion. One might expect something along the lines of a small assortment of bread along with something to spread on them perhaps? I don't know, that was the expectation I had. Instead it's a modernistic, minimalist place with high prices and very limited fare suitable for those from Chicago. You folks will probably adore the place, and that's perfectly fine. I may give it a try for lunch as that menu actually utilizes what Bit of Swiss does very well and that's bread. Dinner - not so much. I had the Bread Board Tartines and they all come on their Como bread which isn't bad but not my favorite BoS bread by far. Overall, it's just an OK place for dinner that Chicagoans and the Whirlpool management crowd will most likely enjoy. The location is nice on the river.

I would really rate my latest experience 2.5 stars. Previously, I went to Bread+Bar for the bar bites menu and then for lunch. I was very pleased with the service and food, so we decided to go for dinner. On this visit, the bar couldn't make the first drink I ordered from the bar bites menu because they didn't have one of the ingredients. No big deal so I ordered a different drink and it was good. We ordered one of the bar bites food items, but they were out of it, so we had to go with our second choice. Soon after we placed our orders for dinner, our waitress was seated a large group soon and was clearly overwhelmed. She tried really hard and we appreciated the effort, but it was surprising that none of the other wait staff seemed to help her out with her other tables. The oddest thing is that bread is not served. There isn't even a bread basket to purchase. The only bread items on the menu were the bread boards that have toppings on the bread or the meat and cheese board. For a restaurant to be associated with a bakery well-known for its bread, it seemed that bread should be a highlighted item. Our entrees took a long time to be served. I can appreciate that they are making everything fresh, but it seemed to take too long. No one came to check on us and offer another carafe of water or see if we wanted to order another drink. After our entrees were served, we ordered a bottle of wine. It was brought to us quickly which was nice. The roast chicken with mashed potatoes and asparagus was very good, if a little small. (I live in a large city now and am used to small portions, but this was too small especially considering the price.) The hangar steak was good, but the cannellini beans were on the crunchy side. The chef happened to stop by the table and we mentioned it, but he never came back to talk to us about it or offer a different side dish. I grew up in the area and was excited to hear that a new restaurant was opening focusing on fresh and local ingredients. Unfortunately I can't recommend it for dinner right now. I would definitely recommend it for lunch or for drinks and a late afternoon snack between 3 and 5 pm. I hope things improve with their dinner service because the area could really benefit from a restaurant like this.

  • Rachel N.

Service and drinks great! Atmosphere was great! Food was ok, has the potential to be fantastic! Plates are very small for the price, and product served. We ordered the onion purses, bread boards and another forgotten small plate. We then ordered the hanger steak which was tiny but good. We left lacking and felt a little robbed. 2 drinks 3 small plates and an entree were still hungry. We went to another restaurant and split an entree afterward. Maybe we were starving from our trip to the wineries. I would recommend this place for drinks and snacks but for a actual meal... I'd say take a pass.

Nice spot, probably 3,5 stars. They have a patio at lunch and soon for dinner. Minimalist decor, but nice, if not a bit noisy. Liked the cocktail menu, limited btg wine list, decent beer selection. The menu looks minimal, but there are a lot of tastes when you see the small plates, bread plate combo's, entree's, etc. We really enjoyed the gougere, and the French onion packets as apps, the bread board was lots of tastes. Unfortunately no mussels available, but the chicken was good if small. Desserts looked great. Nice addition to bh, diff worth a stop for casual drinks and grazing if not a date night.

I ate at the BREADBAR this past Friday evening. I thought the food was pretty good and the service definitely attentive. They seem to like cannelloni beans and found them on many items. Not a plus for me. I did think it was odd that when I told the server that I did not want them on the plate, that I was not offered another starch or more of the tiny stalks of broccolini. The desserts that come from Bit of Swiss were almost worth putting up with the noise. I had Strawberry Shortcake with real homemade shortcake. Wonderful. My friend had a pick lemonade cake, which was also tasty. I wish I could give the place four stars, but the noise level really takes away from the enjoyment of eating there. It was a struggle to conduct a conversation with the person sitting across a small table. The owners need to do something about softening the sound. It was a real struggle and gave me a headache. I will probably go back because the food was fine. But I think next time it will be for a very early lunch.

I went here for lunch. I'd recommend going a little before noon if you can because they got quite busy. I ordered the roast beef on the pretzel bread. Every component was delicious, especially the roast beef which was very tender. I also had the coconut cheesecake for desert and that was marvelous. I savored every bite! The service was ok. The food came out fast after we'd ordered. Our waitress checked on us once right after we got our food, but then it was quite some time before she came back. As we wanted to order dessert, this was a little bit of an annoyance and meant it took longer than I would have liked to finish our meal. I can't wait to go come back and try this place out for dinner!

What an amazing place - great ambiance... And even more delicious food!!! Would never expect to find this Restuarant hidden here ... It can give any Top restaurant a run for its money. Loves everything we ate including the highly recommended the Brussels spouts and French onion purses! And also friendly service. Wish I could eat there everyday!

This is my new favorite restaurant in the Benton Harbor/Saint Joseph area. They have only been open for a week, and we ate there for the first time tonight. The salmon was outstanding--the best I have ever had. The tartines were wonderful--very inventive, as were the vegetable sides and appetizers. Fresh, locally grown Michigan strawberry shortcake was great. The menu was a little sparse, but our server told us they would be adding to it. The restaurant is owned by Tim Foley, who also owns the local Bit of Swiss Bakery. This is a big-city restaurant on the shore of the St. Joseph River. Oh, and their patio with a view of the river will be open next week!

HO. LY. CRAP. Checked out this place on a Friday night with my husband and some friends and ending up going back the next night with other friends who were in town visiting. This will definitely be the place we take out-of-towners to try to impress them with the Southwest MI area. "Move here. Please? We have good food! See?" The french onion purses are something I could eat every day for the rest of my life. Bold statement, yes, but I don't take food lightly and neither does Bread + Bar judging by their fresh ingredients and mouthwatering menu. Get the bread board. You won't be disappointed. Especially if the whitefish is available. I didn't even know I LIKED whitefish until last weekend! Definitely make a reservation if you want to be seated or you could wait 45 minutes or longer. The only downfall to this place is the noise. But the food is so good you'll be too busy eating to talk anyway! Can't wait for their patio to open, so I can stare at the water while enjoying a nice glass of local wine and those freaking amazing french onion purses.

Excellent meal last night. It was not our first visit, and we've eaten light meals there before, but this time everything clicked at dinner. They seem to have expanded the entree menu, and put a lot of thought into them. Shared the deviled eggs and gougeres as appetizers, the latter especially tasty. My husband had the skirt steak and raved about the sauce as well as the bean and vegetable sides. My roast chicken in a natural au jus was perfectly cooked, with mashed potatoes and some mixed green vegetables. I'm not a zucchini lover, but oh, what he did with it! Bread, of course, is delicious. We were too full and in a hurry to have dessert but will do so next time. Definitely one of best dining options in area.

My review is mostly for the service... The food was fantastic, I definitely recommend this place. There was a downfall. Coming in with 14 is always overwhelming and being a server myself I understand how this can go. Needless to say we were not too awful, each of us had 2 drinks max, had apps, and dinner. We warned our waitress that we were doing separate checks, it may not have been exact but it was logical. At the end out server was so rude about separating our checks, even after we had told her that they would be separate. She even complained to another server within earshot. that she was complaining within earshot. She was even rude and rushed 2 of our late comers due to car issues. This server definitely ruined our experience. I hope the manager figures out bad staff will poison the restaurant.

Had the roast beef sandwich! Very good. My husband had the egg plant parm sandwich and said it was awesome. Shared a White fish salad & it was great. Would definitely return. Didn't have an opportunity to try the fun drinks. Maybe next time. Did have a mimosa that was good. Very nice modern decor. Very good quality fresh healthy food. Will definitely stop here again when driving from chi to Detroit.

We had such a wonderful experience while dining at Bread + Bar. To start, we ordered a bottle of Prado Muga, one of our favorites and one we often don't find on restaurant menus. For dinner, everything looked good and we really wanted to try a little bit of everything so we decided to share. We started with Tartines which were amazing. We also ordered one of the specials which was a pasta w/ seafood, but they ran out. Instead of the server coming out to tell us it was no longer available, the owner did. He said he'd prepare something special and that he did. He brought out a linguine w/ shrimp and it was amazing. After the pasta, we had the Skirt Steak. This, by far, was one of the best meals I've had and the service was amazing. Our server was also our bartender and she had wonderful recommendations and knew the menu well. We talked to the owner for awhile about Muga and the wines he serves. He told us about the White Wine that Muga makes and we mentioned we had never tried it. He gave us a bottle to take home. How often do you come across an owner that takes so much time with his guests. It was an amazing experience. We are from Chicago and were just in for the weekend. We ate at a few restaurants while in town and had OK vacation town food. Nothing was great and most wasn't even that good. This meal made our trip. When I go back, I likely will eat at Bread + Bar a couple of times vs. venturing out into the downtown area for a mediocre meal.

This has been on our list to try for awhile and we finally had the chance to stop in for a drink and snacks on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 4:30 and we're cheerfully greeted by the hostess. The place was pretty empty so we had our choice of seating. We opted for the patio. Inside and out, the place is welcoming and cozy. Happy hour runs from 3-5 with a $1 off drinks and a limited food menu. They have a nice selection of local beers on draft and I've heard the cocktails are great, but didn't see a drink menu. I ordered a glass of chardonnay (Edna Valley for $8) and my husband opted for a beer. The complimentary bread basket included sliced pretzel sticks and a wheat sourdough. The place done by Bit of Swiss so you know the bread is good! The tartines made for the perfect snack. You select three for $9.50. Each tartine is three pieces on perfectly grilled como bread. We selected the smoked whitefish, serrano ham with manchego and the cannellini bean. Service was great and the place started filling up around 5:00. The dinner entrees and specials sounded great and they have a nice lunch menu as well. We will definitely be back!

A perfect spot by the waterway. Due to the heat, we dined on the tartines, French onion purses, and chicken with a wonderful bottle of white wine. The outdoor patio is awesome on a summer night, especially when a summer rainstorm passes by. Great service and great menu.

Beautiful and modern atmosphere! Food was delicious, I had the lamb chops and my wife's fish special was some of the best she has ever had. Hidden off the saint Joseph strip. Diamond in the rough.

I ordered the blood red orange martini which I def enjoyed. For dinner I got the eggplant parmigiana sandwich which came with a salad. The arugula salad was nice and light in a delicious dressing topped with cheese. I enjoyed my eggplant sandwich but definitely felt like there could have been less bread n more eggplant. For dessert, they brought out a slice of delicious cheesecake for my bday. It had an Oreo crust n was topped w whipped cream and shaved coconut....AMAZING! And it was on the house since it was my bday.

A must stop for lunch between Detroit and Chicago. Who knew Benton Harbor held such as delicious gem. Chicken and rice soup and turkey sandwich was delicious. Desserts. Couldn't pick just one to share so order one for each of us. Absolutely will be our go to stop on our next trip. May try dinner next time.

I've had dinner here twice and both meals were superb. The blood orange martini is excellent, as well as the whitefish tartines and tomato tartines. Most recently I had the pork chop entrée, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Service and ambiance are also great here. Highly recommend!!
